Perhaps project an image of a garden scene up on the interactive whiteboard, containing lots of insects to be counted, or display an insect poster. Identify, name and talk about insects.Have a collection of toy insects or cut-out images, of various quantities e.g. 1 ladybird, 2 bumble bees, 3 bluebottle flies, 4 honey bees, 5 butterflies and 6 wood lice.
