I37 - Success in Writing for Year 3 to Year 6

Getting to grips with the writing process in senior classes.

Do you want to know and understand the most exciting, most creative and most effective approaches and techniques for teaching children to write well and to write successfully? Then this is the course for you, if you teach any of the classes from Year 3 to Year 6. We detail the processes through which children craft writing across the range of text types and genres. Return to the classroom with a renewed and reinvigorated perspective on children’s writing and equipped to take it to even greater heights!

This self-paced on-line course is aimed at teachers who would like to foster and develop a knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the ‘Writing Process’ as an inherent and integral part of the revised English curriculum.

Topics covered include the stages of writing development, strategies for enhancing pupils' self-generated writing and the stimulation of writing through listening, speaking and drama.

The on-line format of the course enables you to study when and where you want to learn. Content is divided into 5 modules which you can complete in any order at any time.

Participants are encouraged to interact with one another using the communication tools (forum, chat, e-mail) provided by the CPD College learning system. Active facilitation throughout the course provides expert interaction, guidance and feedback for all participants.
